ECIA GA 2016 in Switzerland

The annual General Assembly of European Council of Interior Architects took place 2.262 meters above sea level in Swiss Alpes Chäserrugg (by Herzog & De Meuron) hosted by Swiss interior architects association VSI.ASAI from Sept 16–17, 2016.

GA Round Table Regulation – hated or loved? was focusing on the topic: The position of Interior Architecture as a profession in the lawsystem in order to generate a discussion of similarities and differences between ECIA member states. Rich varieties of data was collected about the ongoing situation of our national organizations and their regulations by the law: Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Norway and Switzerland. Urmo Vaikla gave a brief overview about the position an interior architect as a professional in Estonia.

GA elected Anja Dirks from Holland to continue the ECIA presidency. The boardmembers for the next period are: Jan Geysen from Belgium (vice-president), Tüüne-Kristin Vaikla from Estonia (communication), Marianne Daepp from Switzerland (treasurer), Elke Kaiser from Germany (secretary in general) and Teresa Casas from Spain (new boardmember).
