Tüüne-Kristin Vaikla has been educated as a designer. She is currently a PhD candidate, her research is focussed on questions resulting from the transformation of buildings and the metamorphosis of space that arises when new functions are accommodated. She has worked on a wide range of projects from interior architecture to art installations. She is curator of the Estonian National Exhibition at the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale and the SISU symposiums in Tallinn. She teaches at Estonian Academy of Arts (EAA) and in Tartu Art Collage (TAC) in transdisciplinary fields, and has worked as a guest lecturer and critic at the University of Melbourne RMIT. Tüüne-Kristin is a practicing interior architect, and is a founder of and partner at Vaikla Studio, a member of the Advisory Board of the Estonian Association of Interior Architects. Since 2015 Tüüne-Kristin is elected to the board of European Council of Interior Architects ECIA
